Once again this year, and for the sixth year running, we are delighted to announce that La Mamounia has been shortlisted in the ‘Hotels’ category of the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards (US).
Always striving to meet its guests’ every need and desire, La Mamounia is reviving the age-old tradition of the classic hot towel shave with its very own barber service. An hour-long pampering experience that provides genuine wellbeing, with its "La Sultane de Saba" product range evoking the promise of distant lands with its spicy oriental flavours.
Like any art form, a traditional shave adheres to a time-honoured ritual: after applying a pre-shave oil and cream with a brush, the shave begins using the cut throat razor, favoured by the barbers of yesteryear, to give an immediate feeling of freshness and wellbeing. Like a true artist, the barber performs the shave in several precise strokes of the blade. And on completion, the barber uses a soothing alum stone and moisturiser before applying a hot towel to the skin for a moment of pure pleasure.
