Julien Marinetti at La Mamounia until 30 May 2024: ‘Ma... Ma... Ma... Bis’, a playful and vibrant exhibition

Published on 10 May 2024

As a patron of the arts, La Mamounia regularly celebrates and showcases the creators of original and joyful works that resonate with its own artistic vision.

Already invited in 2015, Julien Marinetti returns this year with an exhibition running until 30 May: ‘Ma... Ma... Ma... Bis’ features some twenty witty and offbeat pieces, presented in collaboration with the Villart gallery.

Why this title? Because...

Ma... as in Marinetti, one of the most talented artists of his generation, who loves to transform everyday objects in the most natural of ways, shaping bronze in tribute to the sculptures of Ancient Greece, and to whom we owe the irresistible and iconic Doggy John.
Ma... as in Mamounia, of course, a haven of refinement always ready to welcome a diversity of talents and sources of inspiration.

Ma... as in Marrakesh, after Paris, New York and Singapore. Here these colourful pieces are bathed in the glorious light of the Red City, lending them its own unique and distinctive feel.

And as a finale, this ‘Bis’ meaning ‘again’ in French, evokes the artist's return to La Mamounia, to the delight of one and all.
