La Mamounia gets a makeover, placing splendour and bedazzlement centre stage
Ever committed to ensuring excellence and offering you truly memorable experiences, we have undertaken a programme of renovation to make your stay all the more luxurious and lavish. And in honour of its Centenary, La Mamounia has chosen to place splendour centre stage.
Under the guidance of Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, the Centenary renovation works have enhanced the spaces of La Mamounia, giving the hotel back its charm of yesteryear. The Centenary Chandelier, in the lobby, also known as the Jewel of the Grande Dame, is a treasure to behold, enveloping you in a cocoon of quietness and light from the moment you walk through the door. This monumental sculpture of light, inspired by traditional Berber jewellery and reminiscent of two suspended necklaces, is utterly captivating: a veritable jewel that perfectly encapsulates the luxurious, elegant and refined atmosphere of La Mamounia.
An Ode to Light
This symbolic creation, that impresses by its dimensions, testifies to Jouin Manku's desire to blend tradition with modernity, to offer a more cosmopolitan vision of Moroccan culture, and to combine the richness of ancestral craftsmanship with innovation. We chose to mount this exceptional work in the lobby, this being the nerve centre and beating heart of La Mamounia.
A singular masterpiece
Integrated into the harmonious pyramidal ceiling, the Chandelier pays tribute to Moroccan art and modern femininity, while at the same time showcasing contemporary craftsmanship and merging cultures to create a truly unique work of art. We hope to offer you an exceptional aesthetic and artistic experience from the moment you walk through our doors, and to immerse you in a world of light and wellbeing designed to illuminate your stay.
