Tell me the story of La Mamounia in six plates: And the winner is....
To mark its Centenary, an emblematic event for this Grande Dame of Marrakesh, La Mamounia organised a design competition entitled "Tell me the story of La Mamounia in six plates". A first-of-its-kind competition that began on 14 November 2022 and ended on 30 January 2023, and which generated a real buzz among young people with 70 entries received.
On 24 February 2023, at a ceremony attended by the national press, the name of the overall winner was announced, following two days of deliberation by a prestigious jury made up of influential figures from the world of art and design.
Adam Amzadaou's talent rewarded
The design of the plate by Adam Amzadaou from the Art'Com Sup Casablanca School won the unanimous approval of the jury, who were impressed by the innovative and poetic way in which he told the story of La Mamounia. A plate of fiery, expressive colours, featuring pared-down shapes and exuding energy and joy, very much like La Mamounia itself. The plate, of which 1,500 were produced, was officially presented at the Centenary Press Dinner.
A commitment to young people
Through this competition, we wanted to pay tribute to Morocco's artistic heritage by supporting the creativity and innovation of young people. We are delighted to play a part in our long-standing role of transmitting and promoting the arts by offering a talented young artist the chance to work with one of the world's leading porcelain manufacturers: Bernadaud. Congratulations to Adam for flying the flag for La Mamounia.
