Two new menus at L'Asiatique par Jean-Georges to honour the art of Kabuki and the great tradition of crispy Peking Duck

Published on 29 may 2024

Two exceptional innovations have been added to the menu at L'Asiatique par Jean-Georges: a sumptuous Kabuki menu served in five acts, and a two-course Peking Duck, an imperial dish dating back to ancient China.

The ‘Kabuki’ tasting menu has been inspired by the wonderful Japanese classical art form combining theatre, dance and song. Diners are invited to experience a true journey in five acts, from the prelude "Onnagata" to the denouement "Wagato", each stage reflecting the exquisite savoir-faire of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Featuring nigiri, edamame or sushi, chicken or prawn dumplings, aubergine tempura, steamed sea bream or pepper beef, as well as a Pierre Hermé brioche infused with notes of preserved lemon, this is a voyage of discovery for a truly exceptional experience.

Menu served at lunchtime and in the evening from Monday to Sunday, for a minimum of two people and priced at 1,400 MAD per person.

The lunch service at l'Asiatique remains closed during the summer period and will reopen its doors on September 1, 2024.

L'Asiatique par Jean-Georges à la Mamounia

Peking Duck pays tribute to a recipe created in the Forbidden City for the imperial family of the Ming dynasty. It is duly served in two courses: the first features glazed duck legs and crispy skin, accompanied by traditional Mandarin pancakes, hoisin sauce and an assortment of condiments.

The second is just as rich in flavour, with stir-fried duck meat, soya, peppers, onions and sesame seeds, served with crisp lettuce leaves.

Served for two at 2,200 MAD per person.

Peking Duck is available from Thursday to Sunday, and the rest of the week by prior arrangement (24 hours in advance).
